About
Convergence is an online platform that hosts ongoing collaborative projects in interdisciplinary improvisation research. The platform was initiated by a group of artists who, over the course of three decades, helped Susan Sgorbati shape her work in Emergent Improvisation at Bennington College. Since their time at Bennington, many of these artists have continued to be in dialogue as they’ve gone on to develop their own approaches to improvisation. A small group is currently engaged in a long-distance virtual project with filmmaker Elliot Caplan.
Convergence is connected to the Improvisation Archive Initiative at The Center for the Advancement of Public Action at Bennington College. The Convergence site offers its visitors access to a range of readings, visuals, and resources to support interdisciplinary improvisation research.
